The United Nations General Assembly declared 2010 as the International Year of Biodiversity. This year coincides with the 2010 Biodiversity Target adopted by the Parties,Heads of State and government at the World Summit for Sustainable Development in Johannesburg in 2002.This year,every country showed its special interest to conserve its natural biodiversity.
On 5 June 2010, India post issued a set of two stamps and a miniature on the occasion of The World Environment Day.This miniature shows the Biodiversity of the Indian subcontinent in much detail.
