Miniature Sheet (India)
On 11 July, 2008 India Post issued a set of 2 stamps and miniature to commemorate bilateral relations between India & Peoples Republic of China.The two stamps depict White Horse Temple and Mahabodhi Temple.
China issued its set of Two Joint issue stamps on June 6,2008.
White Horse Temple is the first Buddhist temple in China,built in 68 AD under the patronage of Emperor Ming in Luoyan,Hanan province.Although it is small in size in comparison to many other temples in China, It is considered by most believers as "the cradle of Chinese Buddhism".
Mahabodhi Temple is a Buddhist temple in Bodh Gaya,dated back to 1st century BC. It is the location where Siddhartha Gautama,attained Enlightenment.
